Straw bales in a paddock under a cloudy sky
Straw · Yass NSW

Clean, dry straw, bedding, mulch, garden beds, dust-free shedding.

Straw is the stem left after a cereal crop has been harvested. It's not feed, it's bedding, mulch, garden cover and a useful bulk fibre when mixed into a TMR ration. We supply clean, dry, well-baled straw, no mould, no rotten patches.

Why our straw stands up.

Genuinely dry

We don't sell straw that's been sitting outside. Bedding straw needs to start dry, otherwise it just damps off into mould.

Tight, even bales

Easy to stack, easy to break apart, easy to spread, none of the half-baled disasters you sometimes get from second-tier suppliers.

Straw: questions buyers ask

Can you feed straw to livestock?
Straw is mostly fibre and low in protein and energy, so it's not a feed by itself. It's used as a bulk-fibre supplement in TMR rations, or as cheap gut-fill alongside richer feeds in winter. Don't feed straw alone as a maintenance ration.
What's the difference between hay and straw?
Hay is the whole plant cut while still green and used for feed. Straw is the dry stem left after the seed has been harvested, it's bedding or mulch, not nutrition.
